The Rev. Daniel P. Strandlund was called as rector of St. Christopher’s in January of 2023. He grew up in Alabama; majored in literature and creative writing at Birmingham-Southern College; and finished his M.Div degree at Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, TX in 2015. He has served in ordained ministry at churches in Alabama and Texas, most recently outside of Austin. In the fall of 2022 he completed an MA in Systematic and Philosophical Theology through the University of Nottingham in the UK (long distance) and in the fall of 2023 will begin a PhD in the Faculty of Divinity at the University of Cambridge. (He’ll undertake the degree part-time so as to continue living in North Carolina!) He is glad to be serving at a friendly church with a good sense of humor! He enjoys music, exercise, driving around in his Jeep, travel, the NWSL, and playing Dungeons & Dragons with his nerd friends. He and his wife, Lucy, live in Winston-Salem, where Lucy (also a priest) serves as an associate rector at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. They have one dog, one cat, and a whole bunch of nieces, nephews, godchildren, and other kids who call them aunt and uncle.
