The Rev. Jerry Lasley, a native of Iowa, has been a priest for 26 years – from serving in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Davenport, Iowa, to serving as a supply priest for Church of the Saviour in Jackson, North Carolina. He received his Bachelor of Arts from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa and his Masters of Divinity from the University of St. Mary of the Lake in Mundelein, Illinois.
Rev. Lasley relocated to High Point, North Carolina to serve as the Rector of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in February 2017 after serving 15 years as a public school teacher in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Leading a church rich in history that has been serving the Triad community for over 50 years, Rev. Lasley is passionate about making sure everyone who walks through the doors of St. Christopher’s feels welcomed and loved, as well as ensuring the growth of the outreach ministries and the membership of the church family. He is a firm believer in the words of Bishop Michael Curry, the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, “We are the Episcopal Branch of the Jesus movement.”
Rev. Lasley wants to work closely with civic and religious leaders across the Triad to bring together people of all faiths to create a world of mutual trust, understanding, compassion, love and acceptance.
